Landwell to merge with Van Doorne

Landwell’s former Dutch firm has sealed a merger
with Van Doorne, which will double its size and increase its profile in the Netherlands.

Landwell will jettison two of its three Dutch offices and concentrate on Amsterdam. The 30 lawyers in Rotterdam and the 20 in Utrecht will relocate to the Dutch capital. The merger gives Landwell litigation and capital markets capacities it previously lacked.

Van Doorne’s London, Curaçao and Aruba offices will be unaffected.

Landwell Netherlands announced last month that it would end its membership of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)-tied group.

Earlier in the year, the firm closed two of its five offices. The merged firm will operate under the Van Doorne name from next January, so Landwell will not have to rebrand as part of its separation from PwC.
