Landwell has sustained another partner loss after losing its London based head of real estate to Bird & Bird.
Former Landwell partner Russell Dellar will team up again with Bird & Bird’s head of real estate Jonathan Baker. The pair were partners at Denton Wilde Sapte before Dellar joined Landwell and Baker moved to Bird & Bird.
Dellar’s departure is yet another in a long line of lawyer exits at Landwell, the PricewaterhouseCoopers tied law firm. The future of the legal-accountancy firm relationship was called into question in March when Landwell’s global head Gerard Nicolai quit and it emerged that there were no plans to replace his position.
Last month Ireland’s William Fry made a second raid on Landwell, taking a small IP team. While Paris has lost over 200 lawyers during the last year and Landwell’s German firm Heussen split from the network in February.
By way of a contrast, Bird & Bird continues to recruit, picking up its second partner in the space of a month following the arrival of telecoms specialist Rhys Williams from Simmons & Simmons in May.
