Lalive boosts Zurich with Schindler GC

Swiss firm Lalive is taking its Zurich office up in the world by hiring the regional counsel for Europe of elevator and escalator giant Schindler.
Daniel Bühr is joining Lalive as a counsel in Zurich after spending the past five years developing Schindler’s European in-house team.
Lalive partner Domitille Baizeau said Bühr would bring increased commercial expertise to the firm, particularly in the areas of compliance and competition.
Although Lalive made its name as a Geneva-based arbitration and litigation boutique, it has been growing a full-service capability in recent years - it opened in Zurich in February 2010 partly to expand its commercial work.
Schindler has not replaced Bühr, but Daniel de Feydeau, general counsel for Schindler Management, will be taking over his responsibilities for the time being.
