THE party continued on into cyberspace for the Legal Action Group (LAG), which celebrated 25 years of cam- paigning last Friday with the launch of an Internet site and electronic legal services network.

The organisation's web site and an Internet database of legal groups around the world, were due to be unveiled during celebrations at Church House in Westminster, london, on Friday.

LAG director Roger Smith said that the web site would be an information "resource" with details of the group's training programmes, books and conferences.

It will also contain an online version of the LAG's magazine, Legal Action.

As well as supplying information on legal groups worldwide, the network will include information on relevant articles and conferences, said Smith.

"There will be a chat facility where people can discuss issues and electronic links to bulletins," he added.

The project has been funded by a £5,000 Law Society charity grant. The site was designed by On-Line publishers, who also designed the Labour Party web site. Access to the site, whose address will be announced this week, is free for lawyers and members of the public.
