University admissions statistics have revealed that more students than ever before have been accepted onto law courses.
The provisional figures published by admissions service Ucas showed that no fewer than 18,394 applicants have now had places confirmed at universities or colleges to study law this year, an overall increase of 1.2 per cent since 2008. This continues the trend of law being the most popular subject for students entering further education.
The statistics will concern the Law Society, which revealed that 7,000 people completed the LPC in 2008 with only 6,000 training contracts available this year.

ILEX is definitely the way forward, but be warned that (for some bizarre reason) anyone who has passed the LPC is barred from ILEX qualification, and must then struggle to secure a TC if they want to qualify.
