KWM global litigation head joins Quinn Emanuel

King & Wood Mallesons’ global head of disputes resolution Beau Deleuil is joining Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan’s Sydney office.

Yesterday KWM confirmed that Deleuil was leaving the firm (4 December 2013). Quinn Emanuel has now announced that he will join its Sydney office in April 2014.

The move comes just a month after Deleuil’s appointment to the newly created role of global practice co-ordinator for dispute resolution, when the merger between KWM and SJ Berwin went live on 1 November (1 November 2013).

Deleuil became a partner of legacy Mallesons Stephen Jaques in 2001 in Perth and was previously the Perth managing partner. He relocated to Sydney to become national managing partner for clients and markets as well as dispute resolution in 2011, following Mallesons’ combination with Chinese firm King & Wood.

Quinn Emanuel launched its Sydney office in May with the hire of two partners from Herbert Smith Freehills, commercial litigators Michael Mills and Michelle Fox (10 May 2013). Following Deleuil’s appointment, the firm will have three partners in Sydney.
