KPMG tax ace joins Goodbodys

New tax partner John McGlone worked at KPMG and as European VAT manager at the General Electric Group before setting up a Dublin VAT boutique. He will work under Peter Maher, Goodbodys' head of corporate tax.
Maher said: "This is the first time we've taken on a full-time VAT specialist. But we've got such deal flow now, we took the view that we needed a full-time person."
Other Dublin firms, including McCann Fitzgerald and Matheson Ormsby Prentice, have taken accountants into their tax practices, but McGlone is the first non-lawyer to join Goodbodys.
The firm's tax department derives around 65 per cent of its work from internal referrals.
