Klegal has taken on veteran CMS Cameron McKenna asset finance partner Richard Goodman
Goodman will become KLegal's second asset finance partner as the firm targets the practice for future growth. Goodman, who has spent his entire career at Camerons, specialises in property-based financing, including large sale and leaseback deals. He will join KLegal's other asset finance partner Timothy Parsons. Parsons brought Goodman to KLegal after working with him as an assistant at Cameron Markby Hewitt, prior to the McKenna & Co merger. Goodman worked on several high-profile property developments at Camerons, including the Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield, the Trafford Centre in Manchester and Bluewater in Kent. He also has a solid client base of financial institutions, including Lloyds TSB Leasing, the Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank/ Lombard. Parsons said: "Richard is very well known to a number of financial institutions and going forward he and KPMG have common contacts. We'd hope to develop the business in these areas." Following KLegal's mer-ger with McGrigor Donald, the asset finance team will slot into the banking and finance practice led by Colin McKay. The practice will have 30 fee-earners and seven partners, three of whom are from KLegal.
