The US firm has appointed IP specialist Deborah Bailey-Wells as the San Francisco office’s administrative partner, taking over from Peter Sheats. As part of the move, Bailey-Wells will also become a member of the firm’s management committee. Kirkpatrick’s San Francisco base opened in 2000 and now houses 37 lawyers.
Last week partners at NGJ and Kirkpatrick voted in favour of a merger which is due to go live on 1 January 2005. The firm, which will be known as Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham, will boast 950 lawyers.
