Kirkland restructuring partner in GTM U-turn

Two weeks ago GTM announced that Kirkland restructuring partners Paul Atherton and Jason Salman would be joining the firm as it looked to boost its restructuring and insolvency capabilities.

But it has since emerged that Atherton will remain at Kirkland.

Atherton declined to comment, but James Sprayregen, head of ­Kirkland’s global restructuring team, said: “As a firm we’re thrilled with the performance of our European restructuring group.

“We’ve developed substantial bandwidth and landed numerous important mandates, and all of the partners within the group look forward to continuing to do that.”

GTM was unavailable for comment.
