Kirkland reboots finance with Weil Gotshal hire

Kirkland & Ellis’ London office has replenished its banking capability by taking an of counsel from Weil Gotshal & Manges.

John Markland, a UK-qualified specialist in acquisition and project finance joined Weil Gotshal in 2000 from Clifford Chance and will move to Kirkland as a partner.

Markland’s appointment is a boost to Kirkland which last year lost its only UK finance partner, Bronwen Jones, to Macfarlanes.
