Kingsford Stacey beat City firms in Hertfordshire County Council deal

City firm Kingsford Stacey Blackwell has won one of its biggest ever property contracts - a disposal for Hertfordshire County Council of properties worth £27 million.

The firm won the work against competition from larger firms, two of whom were City based and one which was national. The council refuses to name the competition.

Kingsfords, which has 24 partners, has an office in the county as well as its City base.

Andrew Laycock, county secretary at Hertfordshire, says: "They are a local firm but have a London office and they have done work for us before which we have been happy with. Price was, of course, an ever important consideration, and the other firms were bigger. It's a story where the little local guy wins.
