King & Spalding star quits for client

King & Spalding’s head of private equity William Spalding has quit the firm to join to join client Caremark.

Spalding, who is no relation to the Atlanta, Georgia-based firm’s founder, joins the leading pharmaceutical company as executive vice president, strategic development.

"Bill has been our contact at K&S and I have worked with him on strategic issues for many years. His addition allows us to aggressively pursue new lines of business," said Caremark chairman, CEO and president Mac Crawford.

Spalding has been with the firm since qualifying and has a vibrant corporate/M&A practice in addition to his role as head of private equity.
