Kennedys was active in 2006-07, launching an office in Australia. The Sydney office counted for all but one of the lateral hires made by the partnership. Kennedys scooped four partners and 20 associates from Minter Ellison to set up the new bureau. However, the firm broke with its usual formula and no internal appointments were made. This compares with 2005-06 and 2004-05, when six and five appointments were made respectively.
