Having spent the past few years working furiously to settle litigation arising out of the collapse of claims management company the Accident Group (TAG), the insurance practice was expecting a slight lull.
Not so. Having settled TAG on a Friday afternoon, the insurance practice turned up to work the following Monday morning to find they had received instruction to act on behalf of the insurers involved in the Buncefield explosion litigation.
With the TAG case worth an estimated £150m and Buncefield expected to exceed that figure, chief executive Ric Martin can be comfortable in the knowledge that the insurance practice will pay for his swanky new offices in Fenchurch Avenue.
