Kennedys launches in Portugal via merger with alliance firm
Kennedys has merged with its Portugal-based associate office Almeida & Athayde to launch Kennedys Portugal.

Founding partners Paulo Cruz Almeida and Augusto de Albuquerque de Athayde will join the firm with three assistants.
Senior partner Nick Thomas said: “In making this move, Kennedys is consolidating its footprint in the Iberian peninsula and using this as a further platform to target the increasingly important insurance markets of Portugal and Portuguese-speaking territories in Africa, Asia and Latin America.”
In September last year the firm opened in Miami with the aim of capturing insurance-related work emerging from South America (23 September 2010).

after losing Tesco they will no doubt hope the Portugese arm can hold onto their client base
