This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
The team includes three partners - Jane Smith, Kate Whitefield and Kieron West - who will join the 45-partner firm on 31 January following the dissolution of Edward Lewis' partnership.
Kennedys says it is gaining "a substantial proportion" of the insurance litigation business of Edward Lewis, including key clients such as Zurich/Eagle Star, for whom Edward Lewis is a panel member, T&N and the Metropolitan Police's liability claims.
Kennedys senior partner Nick Thomas says: "Most of those joining us come with a full workload and the fit is excellent.
"Much of Jane and Kate's Zurich/Eagle Star work is catastrophic high value motor claims which, together with Kieron's employers' liability, public liability and product liability, particularly for T&N, provides a good match for Kennedys' specialised litigation practice. It is an obvious expansion opportunity for us."
The new lawyers will deployed around Kennedys' two London offices in Chiswell Street and Mark Lane and its Brentwood office. The firm also hopes to tender for Zurich/Eagle Star's London Market work in mid-2000.
