Kennedys boosts partnership with cross-practice hires

Liability partner Richard MacKeown has joined the firm’s Manchester office from DLA Piper along with a team of three associates.

This is the third assault that Kennedys has launched on the regional offices of DLA Piper.

Last December, the firm took professional indemnity chief Eamon Mooney from DLA’s Birmingham office, along with partners Robert Welfare and Khalid Mahmood (The Lawyer, 15 December 2008). This came just months after it hired liability partner Radd Seiger from the office.

In London, Kennedys has taken on commercial insurance partner John Bruce from Reynolds Porter Chamberlain.

Kennedys is also finalising plans to bolster its construction practices in London and Singapore.

In London the firm has hired construction litigation partner Mark Tiggeman, who joins from Dundas & Wilson along with solicitor Katherine Jacomb.

Kennedys senior partner Nick Thomas told The Lawyer that Tiggeman would focus on work coming out of both Hong Kong and Singapore.

The firm is in advanced talks with another partner, who will join the Singapore practice.
