Kendall Freeman is fighting for its right to light as former client Land Securities proposes to build an 18-storey building in Fetter Lane.
The firm has filed an application for an injunction to prevent Land Securities from going ahead with the planned 691,000 sq ft offices, due to be built directly opposite Kendall Freeman’s nine-storey Fetter Lane building.
Planning permission was obtained for the project earlier this year. The site is currently occupied by older offices.
Kendall Freeman has instructed Wragge & Co real estate litigation partner Anne Waltham in the dispute, with Nabarro Nathanson acting for Land Securities.
Land Securities was a client of Kendall Freeman forerunner DJ Freeman. Property work was spun off when the firm was restructured in 2003.
