Apparently international firms are going to great lengths to make sure their top partners stay put and don’t get lured by rival firms.

When a senior, well-known Coudert partner decided to explore opportunities presented to him in New York, Coudert apparently resorted to rather drastic measures to scupper his plans.

Tulkinghorn hears that Coudert selected several New York hotels that it suspected the partner may stay at during his visit and planted partners to catch him red-handed.

Tulkinghorn only wishes he could have been present at the moment when the Coudert partner bumped into his colleagues in the city.
