Kaye Scholer hires partner duo from Winston & Strawn

Vincent Sama joins Kaye Scholer as chair of the securities and derivative litigation group and co-chair of the complex commercial litigation team, while Catherine Schumache joins as a partner.

The departures come amid reports that Winston & Strawn has made offers to three-quarters of partners at troubled US litigation outfit Howrey, though neither firm would comment on the matter.  

Kaye Scholer’s co-managing partner Barry Willner said: “Their handling of high-stakes, complicated litigations for companies and directors will enable us to significantly expand the scope of this practice in New York.”
