Katten picks up three from Hogan Lovells PE

We’ve said it before, and we’ll do so again – this season’s must-have is a private equity partner. The comments piled in following the news that Hogan Lovells had taken on King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin (KWMSJB) PE partner Ed Harris in October, triggering speculation that Harris would take a team along with him.

Fast forward a few months and news that KWMSJB PE associate Leanne Moezi is following in his footsteps has sparked a fresh debate. But it’s not all hire hire hire for Hogan Lovells – as we said, this season’s must-have is a private equity partner. And US firms want in on the action.

So in comes Chicago-based law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman, ready to tread all over Hogan Lovells’ PE party. Katten has poached Hogan Lovells’ London private equity partner Philip Watkins and two associates, who are due to start next month.

And on the subject of flaming hot trends, out this week is The Lawyer’s scorching Hot 100 list. Now who said London was overcast?
