Karanovic & Nikolic
Karanovic & Nikolic is a leading international law firm in South East Europe (SEE).
Renowned for the quality of its lawyers and their commercial approach to solving problems, the firm advises many of the leading banks, companies, investors and government institutions doing business and investing in the SEE region. We're practical and highly commercial in our advice, understanding that economics and the commercial implications of our advice can often be as important as the technical side.
With more than 90 lawyers and offices in Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro, Karanovic & Nikolic operates as a single firm across all its offices and prides itself on its proactive and long-term approach to client relationships.
As a leading firm in the SEE, we have a deep understanding of local laws in all jurisdictions in which we operate. We appreciate that clients come to us for answers and solutions to their problems and not to have the intricacies of the law described to them. The firm provides advice at the highest professional level, which is tailor made for the client's particular needs and requirements. To achieve this, the firm is divided into different practice groups, enabling our lawyers to acquire in-depth knowledge of the specific legal areas and industries.
Areas in which we particularly focus are: (i) mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and privatisation, (ii) corporate, (iii) real estate, (iv) banking and finance, (v) competition, (vi) energy and infrastructure, (vii) telecoms, media and technology, (viii) employment, (ix) taxation, (x) dispute resolution, (xi) restructuring and bankruptcy, (xii) intellectual property and (xiii) healthcare.
The firm is led by senior partners Dejan Nikolic, a regional expert in the areas of telecoms and technology, and Dragan Karanovic, a privatisation and M&A specialist, Miloš Vuckovic, an energy specialist, and Patricia Gannon, an Irish/UK solicitor.
Karanovic & Nikolic is active in advising on new transitional laws that have been adopted in the region with a focus on achieving a practical interpretation that is closely in line with the EU laws upon which they have been modelled.
