JPMorgan pushes 'Pride' diversity initiative to firms
JPMorgan assistant general counsel and managing director Tim Hailes spearheaded a major diversity campaign for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) employees in London and signalled his intention to open discussions on the topic with the bank's external advisers in the City.
The move came as a Law Society report into private practice GLBT diversity attracted scathing national media attention. Hailes, who himself has been openly gay since he joined the bank in 1999, is the diversity representative on the bank's global legal group and helped to develop the 'Pride' initiative to encourage an inclusive working environment and networking.
