CMS Cameron McKenna has been appointed sole legal adviser to new client the Jordanian government on the privatisation of its electricity industry.
The London-based team expects to earn just under $1m (£704,000) for the project, which should last around two and a half years. Partners Mark Moseley and Anthony Loring have been instructed by the Jordanian Ministry of Energy to lead the team. A consortium of advisers has been appointed, but Camerons is the only law firm. The firm put in a competitive tender for the work following the procurement process used by the World Bank, which is funding the project. The Jordanian government had the final say on which law firm was chosen.
