Jones Day’s IP team suffers more departures

Jones Day has lost the head of its Munich patent team, partner Matthias Ricker, who is joining German IP boutique Wallinger & Partner

According to German publication Juve, Ricker is set to join Wallinger & Partner in March. He is taking Jones Day European patent associate Holger Tostmann with him.

Ricker helped launch the US firm’s Munich patent department back in 2002. The Jones Day German IP team has already seen some departures this year.

Last month (January), German firm Heymann & Partner raided Jones Day’s Frankfurt IP team of German IP practice coordinator Friedrich Klinkert and associates Piet Bubenzer and Nora Kessler.

Their departures left the Frankfurt office with only one IP partner.
