Jones Day has bagged the head of San Francisco-based Heller Ehrmann’s China practice, marking the second major lateral hire for Jones Day’s China offices this year.
Wen's practice covers corporate finance, M&A and joint ventures. Prior to joining Heller in 2003, he was a lead partner at the Hong Kong-based Siao Wen & Leung.
Wen’s appointment follows that of IP lawyer Anthony Chen to Jones Day’s Shanghai office last month [FEB]. Chen joined after two years with LA-based Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker, where he was the Shanghai-based head of the firm's IP group.
Heller Ehrman has not named a new permanent chair for its China practice. Jonathan Palmer, the regional managing partner for the firm's Asia practice, is taking on the role in the meantime.
Jones Day has more than 100 lawyers in Asia, at offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
