Jones Day partner wins US government role

Jones Day’s Washington partner Deborah Platt Majoras has been sworn in as chairwoman of the Federal Trade Commission. The antitrust specialist was nominated for the post by President George W Bush in May and appointed last month. Majoras served as deputy assistant attorney general and principal deputy at the US Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division.
