Jones Day partner quits for Macfarlanes

Macfarlanes has scooped public law partner Ian Ginbey from Jones Day in a rare lateral hire. Ginbey is only Macfarlanes’ second lateral partner in seven months after head of international benefits Jane Marshall joined the firm from Hammonds last June. Ginbey brings particular expertise in airports and retail and leisure projects. Roughly six fee-earners work on public law matters at Macfarlanes, including environmental partner Paul Davies and property partner Andrew Jackson. The firm made no lateral hires during the 2005-06 financial year, but promoted six associates to the partnership.
