US firm Jones Day Reavis & Pogue has lost a key partner in its Paris office to US rivals Willkie Farr & Gallagher.Laurent Faugerolas, who is a mergers and acquisitions specialist, was the first French partner in the office when Jones Day poached him from Gide Loyrette Nouel in 1995.He is bringing his team of four with him to Willkie Farr.Faugerolas has recently worked for Renault on the negotiation of a joint working venture with Japanese car manufacturers Nissan.Jones Day's Paris managing partner Wesley Johnson says: "Given the high visibility of our practice these days, it is only logical that our partners should be courted by the competition."Faugerolas says that he made the move because of the high quality of Willkie Farr's New York office and the autonomy of its Paris operation, which now has 60 lawyers.
