Jones Day Hong Kong partner quits for Pacific Media

Husnara Begum

Jones Day Hong Kong corporate partner Steven Goodman has left to join leading Asian telecoms company Pacific Media.

Goodman joined Pacific Media as an executive director and group legal adviser yesterday (5 January)

He had been with Jones Day for just under 18 months , having joined in July 2003 from Denton Wilde Sapte’s defunct Hong Kong office where he was the senior partner of the firm’s Asian practice.

The partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s London office Russell Carmedy welcomed Goodman’s decision to join Pacific Media and claimed the move would be mutually beneficial to both Goodman and the firm, which last year advised the company on a reverse takeover in the London.

Goodman’s 20 year’s experience of advising on M&A deals includes working on the acquisition by CNOOC Limited of the Indonesian oil and gas assets of Repsol-YPE.

He will also take up the role of company secretary.
