Jones Day’s Hong Kong office has lost senior corporate partner Steven Goodman to leading Asian telecoms company Pacific Media. As first revealed on www.thelawyer.com (5 January), Goodman has joined Pacific Media as an executive director and group legal adviser with effect from 5 January. He will also take up the role of company secretary.
He joined Jones Day in July 2003 from Denton Wilde Sapte’s defunct Hong Kong office, where he was the senior partner in the Asian practice.
Goodman’s 20 years of M&A experience includes working on the acquisition by CNOOC of the Indonesian oil and gas assets of Repsol-YPE.
The partner in charge of Jones Day’s London office Russell Carmedy welcomed the move and said it would be mutually beneficial to both Goodman and the firm, which last year advised Pacific Media on a reverse takeover.
