Jomati alliance adds New York with Adam Smith, Esq

The US legal management consultancy Altman Weil and its London-based affiliate, Jomati have formed a strategic alliance with Bruce MacEwen, founder of the US legal market website, Adam Smith, Esq.

In the new non-exclusive arrangement announced yesterday (18 March), New York-based MacEwen will work with clients of the Philadelphia-based Altman Weil and Jomati, headed by former Clifford Chance managing partner, Tony Williams, on law firm economics and strategic issues.

The deal is aimed at providing Altman Weil and Jomati with a permanent, on-the-ground presence in New York.

“We are very pleased to be working with Bruce,” said Altman Weil principal Ward Bower. “He is a true thought-leader on issues of strategic importance to the legal profession and increases the scope and depth of resources we can offer our major law firm clients.”

MacEwen is a former securities lawyer at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter who also practiced litigation and corporate law at New York firms Breed, Abbott & Morgan and Shea & Gould.

He launched the legal market website Adam Smith, Esq in 2004 as a commentary on law firm economics. It currently generates around a third of a million page views a month.
