We have a great opportunity for a junior reporter on Lawyer 2B, The Lawyer magazines market-leading sister magazine and website for law students and trainee lawyers.
You will be required to write both news and features to deadline, and should have experience writing both. Ideally this will be on a professional basis, though we would also be interested in work you have undertaken for student publications. You will also get the chance to write breaking news and blogs for the website, www.lawyer2b.com
You will also be required to act as an ambassador for Lawyer 2B at university events, conference and law firm parties, and will have the opportunity to develop a reputation of your own as a name in the sector.
Key Tasks: Write news, features, columns and blogs on a weekly and daily basis for the magazine and website Act as an ambassador for Lawyer 2B within the legal sector and develop relationships law firm graduate recruitment teams, law school bosses, careers advisors and student law societies Contribute to a weekly email newsletter Update the website with news, features and analyses Attend and help organise the Lawyer 2B sixth form careers day Commission articles from student and industry sources, and edit these into readable copy appropriate for the magazine and website
Skills, Knowledge, Experience: An interest in the legal industry is essential. Requires an enterprising team player with a can-do and independent attitude - applicants should be comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes working closely with colleagues, at other times with little supervision. Journalism experience preferred, but training will also be given. Legal training and/or experience helpful but not essential.
