Manchester-based JMW had a steady 2010-11, growing its revenue by a marginal 1.8 per cent following a banner year in 2009-10. Net profit showed a slight decline, largely the result of an unusual number of clinical negligence cases in the previous year that had pushed figures up significantly. As a result average profit per equity partner for 2010-11 was around £250,000, representing a drop of 35.2 per cent.
The firm saw significant growth in employment and private client and also strengthened commercial through increased business development activity and lateral hiring. This in turn has bolstered its client roster.
JMW’s board manages most of the key decisions, although the management team handles the day-to-day business.
