North East firm Jacksons has announced that it is splitting its core areas of business into two new firms, with effect from 1 September.
The move is aimed at giving the individual firms room to expand in their respective marketplaces.
The firm’s insurance practice, which is on the panels of a number of high-profile insurance companies, will be spun-off into a separate practice comprising managing partner Richard Clarke and six other partners.
Clarke said: “The benefit to the firm and our clients will be a more focused, efficient and dynamic environment in which to develop each practice in their respective marketplaces.”
The firm’s commercial and private client practice will have 10 partners, including senior partner Kevin Fletcher. Commercial clients include Corus, a division of the National Farmers’ Union, and Rank Hovis McDougall.
Fletcher said: “Our reputation in the national arena is spreading and this move will help us to serve current clients better and add to the number of national firms calling upon our expertise.”
The names of the two new firms, which will both be headquartered in Stockton, will be announced in September.
