In addition, the firm has hired Taylor Wessing real estate associate Habib Ullah as a partner in its banking practice.
Senior partner Simon Johnston (pictured) said: "Our three to five year plan is to be up there competing with Lovells, Ashurst and Herbert Smith, we're already doing it in real estate."
Steele said: "Nabarro has made a lot of high profile hires and is aggressively looking to take corporate forward to the next level."
Nabarro has made 10 lateral hires in its corporate department over the last three years, recently appointing McGrigors corporate partner Martin Finnegan.
Steele worked opposite Nabarro on a number of floats including Empire Online and Fire One while Ullah qualified at Taylor Wessing and has experience in Islamic
finance, an area that Nabarro is seeking to grow.
Finnegan was head of McGrigors' equity capital markets group and has
experience of Aim flotations and M&A work.
