Italy chief joins Simmons' strategic board

Simmons & Simmons has appointed Italy chief Marco ­Franzini to the strategic board, replacing Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, who is spinning off the firm’s Portuguese operations.

Simmons & Simmons Rebelo de Sousa will separate from the partnership but will continue to work in alliance with the UK firm. Corporate partner Franzini joined the Milan office of ­Simmons in 1998. He is also head of Italy and head of the ­international private equity practice.

The 11-member strategic board is led by senior partner David Dickinson and features partners from China, Paris, Italy and London.
