The nine local law societies which have won a share of this year's Local Law Society Challenge Fund. The fund, which is worth a total of £24,000, was set up by the Law Society to encourage local initiatives. Among this year's winners are The Central and Middlesex Law Society, which is running a sixth-form essay writing competition, and Manchester Law Society, which is setting up a law shop.
