I must be the only person on the planet who doesn’t have a Facebook page.
What is the most unusual Christmas present that you have received from a colleague?
A folding fishing rod – I gave it to my son.
If you could introduce one law, what would it be and why?
So many possibilities – how about no smoking or spitting while walking down the street (not nice for those walking behind).
How did you spend your last bonus? (If you have never received a bonus, how would you hope to spend it in the future)?
I made a well thought through and wise investment – a new handbag.
What are the best perks of your role?
I have a very varied job but top of the list would be that I spend four to six weeks in the summer working in our New York office.
What do you wear on dress-down Fridays?
I used to wear jeans but this has become boring so I have started to wear dresses and boots.
Have you ever been asked to do anything at work that you suspect might have been illegal?
What is the most irritating habit of any partner you’ve worked for?
Not at this firm – but I once worked for someone who used to switch my PC on ready for when I arrived in the office.
How do you unwind after the end of a hard week?
I go sailing with my husband if the weather is nice or for a long walk along the river.
Do you see your colleagues on weekends?
Not very often – we all live quite far apart.

No, but I did meet my husband on a train from Edinburgh to Warrington – I was working in Glasgow at the time.
If you were a lawyer what would your practice area be and why?
Dispute resolution – this was the first practice group I worked in. I was in the arbitration group and I always found the cases and the people interesting.
What do you eat for lunch?
My lunches are very boring – soup in the winter and salad in the summer – sometimes I have a sandwich for a bit of excitement.
Is your salary (in thousands) greater than your age?
No, but then I am quite old.
What items do you always carry around with you at work?
I don’t carry it around, but I always have a sewing kit and a tape measure in my drawer.

I don’t have any photos on my desk – I have a picture of the New York skyline and various thank you notes.
What’s your favourite local?
The Trafalgar in Greenwich – it is a nice walk through Greenwich park and is on the river.
