SJ Berwin’s German practice has lost its second corporate partner since May following the departure of private equity specialist Jürg Windt.

Windt, who has been partner at the firm’s Frankfurt office since 2006, will join former head of corporate in Frankfurt Michael Roos at his new corporate boutique RoosLegal.

Windt will take up his new role in January, alongside Roos and the firm’s third partner, tax specialist Sven Grundmann.

The loss of Windt leaves SJ Berwin with 10 corporate partners across Germany, with five operating out of the Frankfurt office.

SJ Berwin managing partner Rüdiger Knopf said: “We want to thank Joerg for his great contribution to our firm and wish him all the best for the future.”

Roos was replaced in his role by M&A partner Julian Lemor, but there are understood to be no plans to replace Windt.
