Macfarlanes has named banking and finance head Julian Howard as its next managing partner.
Howard takes over from Simon Martin, who will return to full-time fee earning after serving a full three-year term in the managing partner post.
Meanwhile, senior partner Charles Martin has been reappointed for a further three years in his role.
Charles Martin commented: “Being managing partner over the last couple of years has been challenging and Simon has done a really great job. He’s been a great client lawyer and I’m pleased he’s getting back to that.”
Besides leading the banking team at the City firm, Howard is also chair of the international practice committee. He joined the firm in 1984 and became partner in 1991.
Chares Martin added: “Julian will do a great job and there will be plenty of challenges ahead.”
