Lovells has elected five new members to its partnership council with five existing members coming to the end of their terms at the end of April.

London real estate partner Nicholas Cheffings and dispute resolution partner Michael Davison, Hamburg corporate partner Andreas Meyer, Moscow corporate partner Oxana Balayan and Singapore finance partner James Harris will take up their places on the council on 1 May.

They replace London dispute resolution partners Christopher Grierson and Nick Atkins, Shanghai IP partner Douglas Clark, Rome corporate partner Leah Dunlop and Dusseldorf corporate partner Michael Leistikow.

The new members of the council will sit alongside five existing members as well as managing partner David Harris and senior partner John Young. They will serve a three-year term.

The responsibilities of the council include considering and making recommendations on issues relating to the firm’s constitution, the interests of the firm’s partners and the appointment of new partners.

Young said: “The Council is tasked with dealing with many issues that are of direct concern to partners personally and election to the council is accordingly a mark of the personal respect in which the individual partners concerned are held.

“I should like to thank retiring members for their work, help and support throughout their terms of office.”
