Lawyers from DLA and Eversheds launch Madrid boutique

Nicea Abogados launched this month with five partners, including department heads from DLA Piper and Eversheds Lupicinio.

Antonio Cuéllar Prats was the tax department director at DLA Piper in Madrid before co-founding the firm along with former DLA Piper partners Juan Eugenio Diaz Hidalgo and Javier Ibanez Gabernet, who join the new firm from a boutique practice and an in-house position respectively.

Employment partner Jacobo Martínez Pérez de Espinosa was head of labour at Eversheds Lupicinio before co-founding the firm.

They are joined by Luis Serrano de Pablo Valdenebro, a litigation and insurance lawyer who joins from Zabia Abogogados.

According to Diaz Hidalgo, the firm aims to grow from five lawyers and five partners to nine partners and 25 lawyers by the end of the year.
