Kennedys has formally merged with its Dublin associate office O’Hare O’Connor Walshe (OHOCW) to create Kennedys Ireland.
It is Kennedys’ ninth international office and gives the firm seven additional partners in the Irish capital.
Senior partner Nick Thomas commented: “The decision to take our relationship with OHOCW forward by establishing Kennedys Ireland at this time was driven by very clear client demands for a stronger, market-transforming presence in Dublin.”
Kennedys, a firm with a strong base of insurance clients, said the merger would give it greater access to clients headquartered in Dublin.
Kennedys Ireland senior partner James Staines added: “The Irish market for professional indemnity is poised for major changes due to the winding-down of the Solicitors Mutual Defence Fund and other regulatory changes. This is the perfect time to be teaming up with such a fantastic insurance market player.”
The merger will go live today, giving the firm a total 164 partners worldwide.
