Goltsblat BLP taps Salans to fill Russian tax head role

Goltsblat BLP has hired a Salans partner to lead its Russian tax practice.

Evgeny Timofeev will take charge of the firm’s Russian/CIS tax practice. He will work together with Andrey Shpak, head of tax structuring at Goltsblat.

Before joining Goltsblat, Timofeev was a partner at Salans’ Moscow office and co-head of the firm’s global tax practice.

He provides a broad range of contentious and non-contentious tax advice to global corporations, local companies and financial institutions.

“I’m very impressed by the high-level projects they’re working on and their expanding list of blue chip clients,” said Timofeev.

“There’s a great demand from both Russian and international clients for quality tax advice, so I’m looking forward to developing these opportunities further.”

Andrey Goltsblat, managing partner of Goltsblat, said: “I’m glad that a lawyer of Evgeny’s calibre is joining our team. I’m sure that this appointment will let us develop further our international tax capabilities to better serve our clients for cross-border transactions.”
