DLA Piper has bolstered its London finance group with a hire from Deutsche Bank.
Mark McGiddy joins as a partner in DLA Piper’s London finance and projects group today and will sit in the structured finance team under the leadership of Alex Dell.
McGiddy joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was a director in the global markets and structuring group, spending almost eight years at the company. Before that he was a senior associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, specialising in structured finance.
McGiddy has experience of dealing with cross-border transactions, with a particular emphasis on tax-efficient financings and derivatives transactions, and will work closely with the finance, projects and tax practices at DLA Piper.
In a statement, DLA Piper’s international finance and projects head Bob Charlton said: “The case for growing our London finance capability in areas such as structured capital markets, complex derivatives, structured tax and regulatory capital products is compelling and Mark’s appointment underlines our commitment to enhance and expand this practice.”
DLA Piper now has seven partners and around 15 lawyers in its structured finance team across the UK.
