DLA appoints new German leader

DLA Piper has appointed a new Germany managing partner to replace Ulrich Jüngst, who has been in the role since the practice was launched in 2004.

From 1 July 2012 Munich-based Jan Geert Meents, who has headed the firm’s German intellectual property and technology department since 2010 and will continue to do so, will take over from Jüngst as Germany managing partner.

Geert Meents joined DLA Piper from CMS Hasche Sigle in 2008, where he headed the firm’s technology practice (19 February 2008).

Jüngst is stepping down from the role to focus on his new mandate as managing director for Europe and the Middle East, which he took on in May as part of a management restructure (12 April 2012).
