That is an increase of one on last year’s record number of nine. London gained the highest number of this year’s new partners at six, all of whom do international work. For example, new insurance partners Garrett Moore and Elizabeth Leonhardt are based in the City but focus on Tokyo and Latin America respectively.

The firm continued with its focus on the aviation practice and made up two partners in this area – Rio de Janeiro-based Sarah Catchpole and Simon Potter in London.

Eric Moon joins the partnership in San Francisco and focuses on professional liability insurance.

A further two partners have been promoted in the Middle East – dispute resolution lawyer Glenn O’ Brien and corporate lawyer Ben Gillespie.

Earlier this month Clydes announced that it is moving into Riyadh after forming an alliance with Islamic finance specialist Abdulaziz Al Bosaily (6 April).
