Two of the five partners who were set to leave Chadbourne & Parke to launch a Moscow office for Dechert have decided to stay with the New York firm, The Lawyer can reveal.

Chadbourne’s Moscow senior partner Mikhail Rozenberg and banking and finance specialist Jennifer Handz have decided to remain with the firm. Russia head Laura Brank, infrastructure specialist Shane DeBeer and finance expert Konstantin Konstantinov will leave the firm for Dechert.

Last week The Lawyer exclusively revealed that Dechert and Chadbourne were locked in a battle over the future of the five-partner team in Moscow (8 May).

Chadbourne managing partner Charlie O’Neill said discussions with a number of other senior lawyers in the office were continuing but confirmed that three of counsel – Julia Romanova, Dmitry Gubarev and Olga Koniuhova – had told the firm they were staying.

“We’re happy to report that our ongoing discussions with some of our senior lawyers have been successful,” said O’Neill.

Dechert was not available for comment.
